Drew McComas (he/him)
Technical Director
Drew McComas is an Ensemble Member and the Technical Director of Bridge Percussion.
Originally from North Carolina, Drew is currently a Chicago-based percussionist, educator, composer/arranger, and video editor. Drew graduated with a Bachelor of Music in Percussion Performance from Northwestern University, where he studied with She-e Wu, Christopher Lamb, Vadim Karpinos, and Jon Deitemyer.
Outside of performing, Drew serves on the chamber faculty for Midwest Young Artists Conservatory as the Percussion Ensemble Director. During the summer, Drew also teaches the front ensemble for the Mooresville High School Marching Band and continues as a consultant throughout their competitive season.
As an arranger, Drew creates custom arrangements for marching bands across North Carolina and various ensembles like Bridge Percussion. Original works of his can be heard across digital mediums such as short films, documentaries, and webseries, most recently in Ariella Khan’s “Converting.” Complementing his musical pursuits, Drew is an accomplished video editor for Big Shoulders Digital Video contributing to high-profile campaigns for clients such as Capital One, the city of Rosemont, and the Alzheimer's Association.
