In Bridge Percussion’s first two years as an ensemble, we’ve already accomplished so much more than we ever could’ve imagined when we originally first got together during the summer of 2024. Some of the highlights include:

  • The Chicago premiere of Andy Akiho’s Seven Pillars

  • Performing with NYC-based singer-songwriter, Sachi Keiko, and recording with her as part of our submission for NPR’s Tiny Desk Competition

  • Going on our first tour to Ann Arbor as part of a joint performance with Rochester-based Blacktop Percussion

  • Working in collaboration with the Civic Orchestra Of Chicago, the Negaunee Music Institute, and the Oh Arts Foundation to put on a series of shows at the Zhou B Arts Center, All Saints’ Episcopal Church, and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra’s Buntrock Hall

  • Giving performances and clinics at Chicago Public Schools

  • Becoming a regular performing group in MYAC’s Music At The Fort series

This year also marks a major milestone for Bridge Percussion: since January, we’ve been building our first studio home where we can rehearse, develop new projects, and continue building a creative community centered around percussion. Having our own space allows us to dream bigger and create more opportunities - but it also comes with significant new expenses, like rent payments, acoustic improvements, and purchasing new percussion equipment. Additionally, we also need to juggle the costs of building new performances, expanding our educational programming, and providing proper compensation to our artistic collaborators - all of which are crucial to Bridge Percussion's growth.

So we’re looking for your help! If you’re as excited about what we’re doing as we are and want to play a role in Bridge Percussion’s future projects, please consider making a tax deductible donation through our fiscal sponsor, Fractured Atlas. Fractured Atlas can also be found on employer gift-matching sites, such as Benevity*, which can significantly amplify your impact. Any donation truly makes a huge difference and we’re extremely appreciative of your generosity!
